project description
The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, founded in 1984 as a non-profit public garden, offers year-round beauty on an historic property with 50 acres. The site has more than a dozen themed gardens. As part of a major facilities expansion, RAS designed the central garden complex and conservatory, incorporating a new visitor center and a new educational building. The design features a progression of outdoor “rooms” with walled courtyards, a medicinal and meditative healing garden, and a sunken garden with oval fountain. Programming and plans were prepared for exhibits in the 15,560 square-foot conservatory. In 2017, Condé Nast Traveler voted Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden the fourth “Most Beautiful Botanical Garden in the U.S.”
