project description
RAS designed this special exhibit for the Office of the Architect of the Capitol for display in the gallery at the United States Botanic Garden in 2016. Featuring the bold work of agricultural ecologist Dr. Jerry Glover and photographer Jim Richardson, the exhibit illustrated the complexity of plant root systems and their significance to plant conservation and agricultural sustainability. The photographs and preserved prairie grass roots were carefully staged to highlight the striking disparity in the biomass of plants above and below the ground.
