This winning submission to a national design competition for improvements to Brandywine Park at the I-95 overpass in Wilmington, Delaware, presents artful and ecologically sound solutions to the site’s challenges of pedestrian safety, erosion, and stormwater management. Incorporating Best Management Practices, runoff is intercepted and distributed by passive irrigation to a series of rain garden terraces before reaching the Brandywine River.
